In 1972, Rion started selling and importing particle counters. In 1977, we took a significant step by developing and manufacturing the first airborne particle counter in Japan, the KC-01. Prior to this, our focus was on technologies and products centered on sound, such as hearing aids, medical equipment, sound and vibration measuring instruments. Acquiring and honing the "knowledge of light," which shares the common nature of waves, we have been involved in the development, production, sales, and service of particle measurement instruments for over 45 years. What makes Rion stand out is that we design and manufacture the sensing unit using our own technology.
